SUMMIT COUNTY — Departing Dillon Ranger District chief Rick Newton will reflect on his tenure at a 7:30 a.m. meeting of the Forest Health (formerly Mountain Pine Beetle) Task Force Thursday at the Best Western Lake Dillon Lodge in Frisco.
Newton, who is taking taking a deputy forest supervisor position in Oregon in February, will also comment on the U.S. Forest Service’s report about the bark beetle epidemic that is making headlines across the West.
Those interested in wishing Rick well in his new endeavor are invited to attend the meeting, which is free and open to the public.
